We have received a Review on our website from a customer. The Review was a general comment rather than product comment, so we thought the forum will be a more appropriate place to place it.

Here's the customer's comment:

[every korean and japanese brand items have broken kroean and japanese words in pictures.why? that means there is no any korean and japanese branded item here but all the replicas from korean and japanese magazines.so every items should be much cheaper..]

And our response:

[Firstly, we would like to thank you for putting up comment.

Secondly, however, Review section is not the right place to put this comment. As such, we have removed it from our website. The Review section is reserved for customers who have purchased the items to comment on the quality of the items received. Positive comments will encourage other customers to try it out. Negative comments means we need to investigate on the item quality whether it is a single item defect or a batch defect. For the later case, we will take action to stop selling that particular item.

Thirdly, general queries and comments such as yours, should be put in the Forum where we can discuss it in public for the benefit of all customers. To access the Forum, please click here http://forum.thedreamfashion.com.sg/index/.

Fourthly, let me clarify on your comment. It is true that some of the items are not original and are magazine replicas. We never hide this fact. It is declared in our Conditions, as directed to you previously, http://www.thedreamfashion.com.sg/catalog/conditions.php. Instead, we always encourage our customers to read through the declaration first to know what kind of item and risk they want to purchase.

As for the price, it is already cheaper. It is the price of what it is supposed to be, a replica. Should you see the original piece sold in the branded shop, it will be easily five times more expensive. We do not own the factories that produce these replicas, thus we have no interest to promote the sales of lousy or defective replicas. Our concern is customers' satisfaction. If a particular item is not popular among our customers, we simply remove and don't sell it.

Having said that, we are not only offering replicas on our website. We also have a number of original products such as TT Fashion. Thus you'll find the prices are much higher.]

I hope this explanation is clear enough for the customer. If any other customers have any doubts, please feel free to clarify with us.

Cheers!

Hi Spyder,

I just came across this website and got interested in some of your fall jackets. But like others, I've never actually bought clothes online so I'm terribly wary.

From your experience with the suppliers you're working with and the factories that produce these clothes, how much do replicas differ from what is shown in the magazine pictures? Say for example, the jacket in the magazine shows pockets but the replica comes without pockets? Different buttons? Different material (magazine shows heavy-weight cotton whereas replica comes with light-weight cotton and worse, no lining?)

Simply put, I know the clothes are cheaper indeed, but how much difference is considered acceptable?

Thanks, would also appreciate if anyone could share any past experience buying these so-called replicas. :D

p.s. FYI, the 2 fall jackets that I'm interested in are:
- Cotton with in-between Cotton Jacket CO3724-W65
- Smart Fall-winter Jacket SH-1354-W5

Hi Gremlin,

Thank you for your query.

We have explored various suppliers and factories, the quality of the replica can really differ greatly. Therefore, after a substantial period of trial, we've settled with our current panel of suppliers, who are providing generally good quality items.

From our experiences. replica items, such as CO-, LY-, KAWAII, etc., have about 80-90% similarity. 80-90% similarity refer to the actual product in comparison to the photo. The differences could be because of the different materials used, or slightly different colour tones, or slight differences in the location of pockets, buttons, etc.

Most important, from our point of view, is actually the quality of the replica. It may have all the buttons and pockets on the exact places, but of inferior material, we will usually not approve. However, if the material is good, slight difference in the pocket location is forgiveable.

Having said that, it all depends on the tolerance of the individual customers. Our perception of 'OK' during quality checks may differ from customers point of view. We will definitely respect the tolerance level of individual customer. If a customer cannot tolerate certain differences, the customer can request for full refund.

Thankfully, so far, our customers have been very nice and understanding. Some customers even take it in a positive light that having differences in the replica vs photo, make that piece a unique design... PROVIDED, of course, that the quality is good.

If you would like to see what some customers have said about the items they'd purchased, you may browse through our Review section and Testimonial section.

Review: http://www.thedreamfashion.com.sg/catalog/reviews.php. This section will give you some clues on what items you should avoid. Generally, if many customers complain about certain item, we will remove it from our site. However, if we have mixed comments, we usually will leave it for customer to decide.

Testimonial: http://www.thedreamfashion.com.sg/catalog/testimonials.php

As for the two items you are enquiring:

1. Cotton with in-between Cotton Jacket CO3724-W65: this is CO- item, a magazine replica item. So far we've not receive any feedback about the bad quality nor the low similarity level.

2. Smart Fall-winter Jacket SH-1354-W5: this is a SHARARA brand item. It is not a replica, but a design brand by itself. SHARARA's item is known to be of good quality. You can rest assured this will be to your satisfactory.

In any case, as first time customer, we always extend you the benefit to exchange the item should the size not fit you. At any point of time you feel the quality is bad, i.e. missing buttons, tear, zip problem, etc. we will offer full refund or credit for other purchases.

I hope this helps.

Should you need further clarification, do not hesitate to contact us.

Cheers!

Appreciate your customer satisfaction assurance, Spyder.

However, I'm still feeling a little cautious. Let me consider if I really need those items and am willing to take a chance. Thanks :)
